Check the clinician
- Get the clinician’s full name and professional title, such as doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
- Open the licensing board for that profession in the state where you will sit during the visit.
- Confirm the license is current and read any public record of disciplinary action.
Check the pharmacy
- Ask the name of the pharmacy that would prepare or ship the medicine.
- Use the state board of pharmacy record, not a seal copied onto a website.
- If the pharmacy is not in the state lookup, do not use it.
Check the product claim
- Search the FDA medicine database for the exact product and maker.
- Remember that “FDA registered” does not give FDA approval.
- Search FDA enforcement letters. A letter lists the agency’s concerns about a named seller when it was written; treat it as a warning, not a final court decision, and check for later records.
